Finally, Summer has come full force to the East End of Long Island. And, everyone here is ready to mingle and party in the sun. Below, a view from the Shinnecock Canal to the beachgoers on Meschutt Beach.
There is a scene in my new thriller, Fool Her Once, set on Meschutt Beach which one of the characters in the novel motors to in his boat from the North Fork through the Shinnecock Canal (photo below.)
Here are some more photos I took yesterday, the first day of summer (and Father’s Day) Β Below, a view from the bay beach at West Landing.
The view from West Landing is across the Great Peconic Bay to the southern shore of the North Fork where most of my third thriller, Fool Her Once is set. You can see it in the distance.
Closer to home, I took some more photos on an idyllic Sunday morning in the Red Creek area of Hampton Bays. Above, is a tranquil Squires Pond. And, below, a little further up the road is Red Creek Pond which provides a small, safe harbor for all sorts of boats including sailboats.
Then, onto Shinnecock Bay (guess how Hampton Bays got its name?) where Sundays (below) is a fave restaurant for my husband Joe and I. It’s located between the bay and the Atlantic Ocean, and it’s also another setting in Fool Her Once. This photo was taken earlier this month before the summer crowds descended on this popular spot.
Finally, back home with the dahlias looking good,Β I was able to look forward to relaxing Β in my favorite summer reading nook (below.)
Wishing a safe and happy and healthy Summer 2021 to all.
