My hometown newspaper, the Southampton Press, said this in its review of my latest thriller, Fool Her Once: “…What also recommends it is its setting, the North Fork… It’s obvious the author knows the area well, and loves it.”
I do. Especially at this time of year.
It was pumpkins galore last weekend at Bayview Market and Farms
…And apples everywhere. At Hubbard’s Farmstand in Aquebogue you help yourself and drop your money into a cashbox.
The North Fork was ablaze with the color of chrysanthemums
I stopped at as many farmstands as caught my eye
There was plenty of them
They’re dotted along the length of Route 25. From Riverhead to Orient Point
Inside Hallock’s Cider Mill, in Laurel, I found the spiced peaches and horseradish and marmalade I always stock up on for the winter (below)
Then it was time for a bite to eat
So, we stopped for lunch at On The Docks
Before bringing our bounty home to prep for dinner. I can’t wait to taste the homemade Garlic Habanero Crushed Pepper Hot Sauce from Breitenbach Farms!
Beautiful scenery!!
It is beautiful isn’t it? But I’m sure you have equally gorgeous scenery up there, north of the border.
We do have some nice colors up here – before the white stuff blows in lol
I guess that’s the beauty of living in a place that has seasons.
Wow! Gorgeous! Love the colors of fall. Miss them here in Florida.
I know. The colors are magnificent, aren’t they! And the temperatures are perfect, too. I love Fall in the NorthEast.
Looks like a perfect day on the North Fork.
So lovely to drive pass all the farms and feel that real country living.
And Stan and I love stopping by The Dock
For oysters and cocktails.
Loved your book !
Happy you loved the book, Sandra. Aren’t we lucky to live in such a beautiful part of New York?
