Book Signings Here I Come!

I got quite the loveliest Christmas present from my stepson, Sean, this year. It’s a Waterman fountain pen. Yes! A fountain pen — with a gold nib; a pen that uses real ink cartridges.  It came in a white box on which Sean wrote: “Happy Book Signings!”

And, of course, it was more than just a pen, prompting, as it did, a walk down Memory Lane: Back to the days of dip pens, inkwells and ink monitors who refilled your inkwells at school.

What a boon when we were allowed, eventually, to use fountain pens and didn’t have to keep dipping every minute. Safer, too.

Book Signings In My Future

Naturally, I had to use my new fountain pen immediately. No better way to start, I thought, than signing an advance review copy for Sean.

I expect there will be more book signings in my future  as there were when my first two thrillers, Scandal and Delusion, were published. But after that, I’m going to slow down the pace considerably.

Slowing Down Next Summer

2021 was so hectic as I and CamCat Books raced towards the finish line with Fool Her Once. I didn’t visit the beach once. (Ridiculous since I live within walking distance!) I rarely got to cook; I had no time to potter around the backyard; I started some great books which I didn’t get to finish. I vow I’m going to finish Bleak House next year as well as these others (see below.)

I’m also going to grow a herb garden. The Gangsta Gardener, Ron Finley makes it look really easy on MasterClass.

I’ll be doing more walking on the beach.

And, spending as much time as I can with friends and family — especially with my husband, Joe.

Wishing everyone a Happy, Safe, Healthy and Successful 2022!

  1. Enjoy all the book signings!! And also enjoy A Case of Need when you get around to it. I read that one a few years ago now and it’s quite good 🙂
