The mystery and suspense website, Criminal Element.com was given the exclusive right to reveal the cover for my third thriller Fool Her Once. And, here it is:
To access the full reveal and excerpt on Criminal Element’s website please click here. Criminal Element was launched in 2011 as a website for fans of crime fiction. It publishes a weekly newsletter with information, reviews and excerpts from new releases in the mystery, suspense and thriller genres.
Regular readers of this blog will know a little bit about Fool Her Once since earlier this year, I posted a short preview of it. Now, the first three chapters are included in Criminal Element’s excerpt.
If you read to the end of the excerpt, you’ll see you can learn more, and even pre-order my novel by clicking on any of the Buy Link buttons.
You can also access my Books Page where you’ll see the first lovely review of Fool Her Once by author R.G. Belsky, creator of the fabulous Clare Carlson mystery series.
A lot of work went into producing the cover. CamCat Books’ artist Maryann Appel, worked on some 30 different versions — all of which were emailed to me– before the final choice was made with input from, among others, CamCat’s publisher, Sue Arroyo, marketing director, Laura Wooffitt and editorial director, Helga Schier.

I can’t wait to buy it! Congratulations!!
You can pre-order it. If you’d like to do that — although March 2022 seems like a really long time ahead, doesn’t it?
I’ll be honest, the cover’s not what I expected for some reason. I don’t know why that is though lol. Anyway, I can’t wait for March. Preordered my copy today!
Thank you so much, Eldon for pre-ordering. Can’t tell you how much I appreciate it. I hope you won’t be disappointed.
If the sample chapters are any indication, I’m sure I’ll love it!!
Not what you expected? In a bad way? Would love to hear more.
Not in a bad way or anything, don’t worry about that. I guess I’ve been reading your blog so long I fixed an image in my head of what this cover would look like and, as theses things often go, the reality didn’t match what I imagined. I’m sure your publisher has chosen a cover that is on trend though!!
The cover is striking with a darkness that is intriguing. Your writing chops shine through these first chapters with crisp pacing and gripping hooks that keep the reader engaged and turning the page. All that work and all those revisions have resulted in a polished story, and prose that jumps off the page. You have such an engaging writing voice and your background as a journalist gives the story authenticity. Nicely done. I’m so excited and happy for you.
Wow! Greg, what a super review of the first three chapters. I sincerely hope you’ll still feel the same way after you’ve read the entire book. Thank you.
The excerpt is totally intriguing. And the cover is suitably ominous. Can’t wait to dig into the book!
Thank you for your comment — and, it won’t be long now before you can dig in since there is an ARC on its way to you for the book club meeting. Can’t wait to hear what you think about it.
